Adaptive golf · School clinics · Inclusive events
Adapt2Golf brings adaptive golf instruction to people with disabilities and inclusive clinics to schools across Chicago's North Shore. One arm, one leg, a wheelchair, no experience at all: we adapt the game to you.
Who we work with
Golf has a reputation as a game for the privileged. We don't see it that way. Our students are people who were told, or assumed, that the course wasn't for them.
Our mission
Adapt2Golf exists to make golf accessible to anyone who wants to play, regardless of disability, ability, experience, or resources. We adapt the game to what you have and give you the chance to find out what you can do.
That means the kid in the wheelchair who has never held a club. The veteran with a prosthetic leg who assumed sport was behind him. The student who has never set foot on a course. They're all the same kind of golfer: one who adapts to play.
"If you tell us, 'I want to try to hit a golf ball,' our answer is simple: let's give it a shot."
Programs
From one-on-one adaptive lessons to full school clinics and tournament days. Every program is built so people of different abilities can take part together.

On-site clinics for elementary and middle schools, run in your gym or on your field. Small groups of 1 to 5 with Mike directly; extra instructors come in for groups of 6 or more. Works as PE, after-school, or a one-off intro day.

Inclusive tournament formats, school championship days, community fundraisers, and corporate outings with a purpose. We build the program, run the instruction, and handle the day.
Plan an event →How it works
Call, text, or email Mike. Tell him about yourself, or your students, and what you'd like to try. No experience needed.
Some people learn by watching, some by listening, some by feel. Mike works that out in the first five minutes and teaches to it, so nothing gets complicated.
Simple, rewarding, and fun. It isn't about how far it goes. It's about the fact that you did it.

Meet Mike
Mike Samson is a golf professional specializing in adaptive instruction and youth development. His approach starts with one question: how does this person take in information? Visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. Once he knows, the lesson is built around it.
Elementary and middle school students are his favorite age to teach. They haven't picked up bad habits yet, they're moldable, and they'll play this game for the rest of their lives. He runs groups of one to five himself and brings in additional instructors for larger groups so nobody gets lost in the crowd.
"It's not about how far you hit it. It's about the fact that you did."
